Our job is to provide the Managerial, Administrative and Financial assistance that many companies need in the early stages of business...
So, once we established a base of operations, we worked with the City of Gary and the Not For Profit organization, the Economic Development Corporation to carry out the task of growing Gary Brands. This task was entered into willingly, by our team. We see the challenge before us as a task that we are incapable of accomplishing without the cooperation of all stakeholders. We are leaning heavily on:
Tolbert & Tolbert Gary Parks and Rec The Hampton Group
Troupe's Construction Steel City RailCats AMCTAW
Gary Redevelopment Gary Zoning and Buildings ArtHouse
...and many others, to bring this idea to fruition. By focusing on what we have in Gary we can supply what is needed.
Knowing this we have chosen to identify Gary based businesses in the following industries:
Clothing/Manufacturing Construction
Mental Health Not for Profit
Recreation Politics/Civics
Media/Entertainment ...and Food Services
Our promise to these business is simple. After careful consideration and evaluation, we will select a Class of Eight (8) businesses. These companies can be existing or start ups. They can be Gary-based or beyond, but they must commit to establishing a brick and mortar presence in the city once the Academy curriculum is completed. The Curriculum centers on (1) Organization structure and design, (2) Effective business communication and forms, (3) Sound fiscal reporting, (4) Proper planning and strategizing to conquer your market, (5) Fearless execution, and (6) Reinvestment and replication.
Each company that completes the program will be afforded an opportunity to pick a location within the city limits, secure funding for next phase of operations, and entree into the bloodstream of its specific market. The goal of the Academy is to birth Gary Brands. Businesses that understand that it owes its existence and future successes to a place that many believed would never come back around. We see the Academy is the first chance for many, but the last hope for many more. We are bold in our approach because the situation calls for just that. Our commitment and dedication are to no political alliances. We owe everything that we are involved in to the citizens, both now and to come.
